Why was Cindy not afraid to die and why was she assured she was going to Heaven?

It is because Cindy came to understand:

1) Her need of salvation by God’s grace. (Romans 3:23)

2) God’s provision for her eternal salvation by grace. (Romans 5:8)

3) That salvation / eternal life was not an earned reward for the righteous but an undeserved gift for the guilty which was paid in full by Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

4) It is because Cindy chose to trust in Jesus Christ alone to save her & give her eternal life as a free gift, God always keeps His promises. (John 3:16-18)
